It's my 23rd Birthday today!
Honestly I almost forgot about my birthday. I know I mentioned it before but I got to work today and I was working a case in which a girl was scarred by a spell from another young witch who should not have been allowed to have a wand. The younger girl was 10 and technically this is her parents fault but she took the wand without their knowledged and had no idea what she was doing. This is too familiar. Oddly, I am having a hard time prosecuting her or her family. These people shouldn't matter to me. It's a job. After a few drinks they don't, nor do I see myself on a gurney in the infirmary. Why am I thinking about this still?
I came home to several owls. One is this ring, a gold dragon. He is protecting a dark green crystal that looks a bit like an eye. He moves a bit and when I got a bit too close the little blighter shot a small flame at my hand but it is brilliant. I collect dragons, although I am actually named for the star, Draco. There are very few that know that or maybe it was a lucky guess. The person who sent it seems to know my taste, but the fact that there is no card is something in itself. The ladies would take credit for their work, as would most proper Slytherins. It makes me wonder if Potter -
I think I am thinking too much. I need a few more drinks to ring in this year properly.
